Isa Lichtenthurn

Raised in a family where everything seemed possible, I was encouraged from a young age to pursue my dreams. At just 15, while working as an apprentice in a travel agency, I received my first paycheck, and three years later, I set off on a year-long backpacking adventure through Asia and Australia.

At 28, I left Switzerland once again, this time with my partner, embarking on a journey around the world. Along the way, in a hospital in Mexico, I received a life-changing diagnosis: lymphoma. Our travels came to a halt, and I returned to Switzerland to begin treatment.

While undergoing traditional medical care, I discovered gentle, holistic therapies that nurtured both body and soul. This transformative experience led me, in 2000, to co-found L’Intermed with my sister—a pioneering space for sharing and exploring alternative therapies, a "Doctissimo" before its time.

By 2002, I was ready for a new chapter. Embracing a spirit of freedom and change, my family and I moved to Provence, where we transformed an old farmhouse into a wellness-focused bed and breakfast. Our unique concept—complete with morning yoga, massages, and wholesome, delicious meals—was ahead of its time and delighted our guests.

In 2011, driven by entrepreneurial ambition, we sold Felisa and took on an extraordinary challenge: renovating a sanatorium perched on a cliffside. Eight years later, in 2019, we felt the call for reinvention once more. We sold the property and relocated to the Algarve, where I immersed myself in artistic creation by opening Atelier33 and shared my passion for cooking through volunteer work with a local association.
